Before I die, I want to...

Before I die, I want to deejay for the biggest crowd in the world with deejays that have inspired me such as Armin Van Buuren, James Zabiela, Sasha, and John Digweed. Since I started deejaying, my goal is to be one of the top ten deejays in the world. I have always loved electronic music more than anything. Music and deejaying have been my passion for a long time. My only dream before I die is to show the world how talented I am. Every night I dream for that day to come and I cannot wait for it to happen. I believe in my dream and what we dream can become reality, if we really believe in it.

Do schools kill creativity?

I agree with Robinson’s suggestion that schools and education systems kill creativity because some young students at school want to follow their dreams and their own creativity. If someone wants to be an artist, then he should be specializing most his time in arts. I believe that education systems and schools should definitely give more courses and classes of arts if a student really wants to be a professional at it or even music classes. If a student really loves art or music, why not start building his career while he is in school. I think creativity is very important in our lives because we will end up working in a job that we really love in our future such as art and music. As adults, we should encourage our children to pick their creativity from the day they start school. Schools should have meetings with their students and ask them what they want to do when they grow up, and we should help them reach their goal by listening to them. Though, students should still learn maths in school because it is a very important subject that will them through their careers. It is okay to make mistakes. Everybody make mistakes in their lifetime, but people learn from these mistakes and this is something that we have to be proud of because that means that you are learning in life. Creativity is very important to me because I always wanted to succeed and reach my goals in life such as become a famous deejay one day, and I am still till this day doing my best to be in that spot. I say to everyone in this world, never give up your dreams, work hard for it and you will reach that dream you always wanted.

House Music

House music has been one of my favourite genres of music. I listen to it when I am studying, deejaying, sleeping, and while I am cruising in my car. I have been downloading house music since I was thirteen years old.
House music is a genre of electronic dance music that started in Chicago in the late 80’s. House music is found everywhere in the world these days, in clubs, raves, concerts, radio stations, events, and much more. The best house music deejay I respect the most is Carl Cox. He has been my inspiration since I first started listening to house music. He started mixing, remixing and producing house music since the 80’s. He was one of the top ten deejays in the world in the 90’s, but still in the top thirties this year.
House music has been voted to be one of the best electro dance music in clubs since the year of 2000. House is an up-tempo music for dancing, generally ranging between a 120 and 135 beats per minute. The most common beat in house music is the kick drum. It is also filled with hit-hat, snare drums, bass, and clap sounds. I recommend everybody to start listening to house music because it will be a big part of your life nowadays. It will change the way you party.

Schooling liars

Cheating or plagiarism is a common problem in a lot of schools, universities, institutions, companies, and even at work.  Cheating is acting untruthfully or unfairly in order to gain an advantage. Plagiarism is taking someone else’s work or ideas and passing them off as one’s own. We see these problems all the time, even at Mount Saint Vincent University. I believe that the problem of academic cheating or plagiarism is in the academic setting because every university has its own policy and they are very strict about these rules. MSVU’s policy about cheating or plagiarism is getting an academic offence, getting a zero on the assignment, and even being kicked out of MSVU. Some people never got caught, but they are responsible for their own future.
How are you going to be successful in your future goals if you do not learn, and cheat all the time? Some individuals do not understand this now, but once they get to the point of getting a job and asking you to do a marketing plan, and you do not know how to do it then you will be replaced by someone else. This will make you regret every single time you have cheated or plagiarized at university or elsewhere too. I think plagiarizing and cheating should be stricter because people will not learn from their mistakes unless you give them something that will teach them not to cheat any more  As an example, they should have a course to students who are caught cheating through courses, and of course give those academic offences and other penalties.
People take risks all the time, so I do not see anything wrong for students taking risk to cheat. Life is about taking risks. But this is not my point. I do not encourage it because if you get caught then you will understand why you do not have to take this risk. Students who cheat to improve their grades is unfair for other students around because other students are working very hard to get a good grade, while the cheaters are not doing anything and still receiving good grades. In my opinion, cheaters should stop what they are doing and follow the rules and policies of cheating and plagiarizing because if they do not they will get in big trouble and they will not be successful in their future terms.

On-line Compliments

Complimenting someone in life will make him feel better if he or she is having a bad day. It is a polite expression to say something lovely to somebody. This project created by the four students of Queen’s University is a wonderful idea because it sets a smile on different student faces that are having a bad day. Reading a compliment from a strange person is kind of disturbing, but if you think about it, they are saying something sweet to you which will make you feel special. Some people have a hard time complimenting a person face-to-face. This is why I think it is a very good impression for students to post on-line compliments to other people because they feel more comfortable doing so.
Sometimes, I have a tough time complimenting people personally, but when I write it on her or his Facebook page, I can look over it again and make sure that I am saying the exact compliment that I need to say.
This article explains how students feel much better and more confident receiving compliments from other students who are harassed in universities by having difficulties making friends. Even though you do not receive a compliment from someone, it is okay because you are who you are and you are different from others.
This on-line compliment project is definitely another example of this generation’s preference to communicate electronically because they feel more self-assured to think about what they are going to say before they post it on-line. I think it is very important nowadays to post compliments on-line to somebody because it gathers more individuals together to chat and to get to know them better.

My Favorite Book

My favorite book(s) are the seven collections of "Harry Potter", which is written by Joanne Rowling. Harry Potter is a fantastic book to read. For those who all love fantasy stories, this is your book. It combines multiple different themes such as death and love. They are very exciting and interesting. Harry Potter is the kind of book you pick up and cannot forget. If you ever buy Harry Potters' collections, do not start reading with the second or third book because you need to read all of them to fully understand what is going on. Harry Potters' collections are amazing, even though they are so long, they are worth reading them because there is a lot of creativity and imagination in them. I definitely recommend you reading them.
My other favorite book is "Bats and Butterflies", written by Elijah Schkeiban who is my uncle. This is one of the best stories I ever read because it is filled with creatures, crystals, castles, glory, and because it is written by my uncle. This Story is similar to Avatar movie because it has been paraphrased by James Cameron, the director of Avatar. Elijah Shkeiban has been my inspiration for a long time, he thought me the meaning of thinking in a different way and outside the box. Bats and Butterflies is infinitely optimistic in the face of good versus evil. It is an old-fashioned fairy tale with a modern twist-trading cards of the characters. This book is not very famous, it is sold online though, but I guarantee you that you will be surprised once you start reading it. I suggest you to buy it and read it because it will be your favorite book too.

The End of Romance

Technology has been improving a lot during the past few years. Most of the young students and individuals in this world own a phone these days. Maintaining a cell phone is being able to communicate with other people all around the globe, whether it is texting or talking.
This article written by Alex Williams is fascinating and correct. Social media, texting, Facebook messaging nowadays has affected many young individuals with the interpersonal communications. Young people these days are more nervous to talk to women face-to-face, because they do not have the experience of doing so. They feel more confident about texting women, because they can think about what they want to write before sending it. But if you’re having a face-to-face conversation, young man are nervous that she will reject him and make a fool out of him. In my opinion, I feel that younger generations prefer to communicate electronically rather than in person, because they feel more self-assured to think about what they are going to say. I would say that this is definitely the end of romance.
Young individuals have the ability to ask more personal questions in texting rather than talking in person. They think it is easier to do. Dating referring to young people in our time is hard. They do not know how to act, whether it is a “classic date” or a “hanging out date”. Socializing with strangers is a really hard task to do, because you have to find out what they are interested in and what they like to do.
Younger generations will certainly have difficulties to develop strong interpersonal skills for their personal and professional lives, because society did not teach them how to be confident and sociable to chat to people face-to-face, but they thought them how to communicate with electronic devices, and this is a very bad impression.
I positively agree with the author’s headline, the end of romance, because this is precisely what is happening to young generations these days.

The New Underclass

People go to universities to end up with a respectable job. But, analyzing this case, I just found out that graduates with excellent majors can not find a job. It is really depressing, because you are paying all this money to go to university, so you can live on a good income that will put your children into great schools and colleges. I agree with every detail of this article, because many young Canadians graduated with college and university education, and therefore they are working with a minimum wage at Sobeys and Wal-Mart to pay off student loans or debts.

I am concerned with my future, because after reading people’s remarks about how tough it is to find a job, now I am worried. Therefore, I do not want to live the rest of my life working for a minimum wage. I paid a lot of money for college to be able to find a decent job, and if I do not get an excessive job that pays fine, then what was the whole purpose of accomplishing a degree?

Students with overwhelming skills will absolutely have an opportunity to find a prodigious job, rather than university graduates, because if they already have experience about this type of field, then companies are going to hire the people with skills, rather than hiring someone who does not have any experience. University will prepare you for the “real world”, because they will give you sufficient knowledge to help you succeed and direct you in the right path for your work field.

Lance Armstrong confession on Oprah.

"One Big Lie."

Lance Armstrong confession to Oprah was one of the top news for the year of 2013. Lance Armstrong admits that he have used drugs, during all seven times of his Tour de France.
While Oprah interviewing him, he looked really nervous. He only had the option to answer Oprah’s question with a yes or a no. Confessing in front of the world is a really hard job to do. Because you are throwing away all the happiness, goals and achievement that you assembled, and this is what exactly is happening to Lance. He is now found guilty.
I am glad that he came out honestly, and shared his biggest secret that he has been hiding it for years. Some people are disappointed in him, and some people are not. Lance Armstrong led a very successful campaign about live strong foundation. He made individuals believe in themselves. He changed people’s lives. But now, after I found out that he was using dope during the Tour de France, I am not supporting him any more  Because many other people worked really hard to win this tour, and he was cheating for years. Lance Armstrong should not get any credit for live strong campaign, but should live in the shadows of guiltiness for the rest of his life.

Steve Jobs Stanford Commencement Speech 2005

"Stay hungry. Stay foolish."

Steve Jobs wrote and delivered a very good speech. He had a very classic structure and a strong opening speech. His speech was sectioned into three parts which are connecting the dots, love and loss, and death. These three parts stands for birth, death, and rebirth. The structure of the speech was formal and simple. He had valuable pauses before and mainly after key points to give the audience time to understand his sentences, to applause or to laugh as an example of the joke he did about not graduating from college. The weakness that I found in his speech was that he had a couple funny joked that he did not put a smile for and where the audiences were laughing at.
Steve Jobs gave one of the best advices just to the graduates and not for anyone else. He explained that to live a life fully was to attempt for greatness and believing.
If I would be a member of the Stanford 2005 graduating class, I would be very inspired from his words because he figured out how to live and believe in life, and how to succeed and achieve something that you really want.

Non-verbal Communications

"Don't fake it till you make it. Fake it till you become it."

Amy Cuddy summarizes information about non-verbal communication and how body language affects how others see us. Her research on body language reveals that we can change other people's perceptions.
I agree with what she is saying but she is not talking about doing it for others, she is talking about doing it for yourself. This was my issue about her is that she is there on stage talking about her own problems rather than giving us advices. What I have learned from this video is that if you feel powerful, you become more confident, and you become happier because you are being who you really are.
In my opinion, the power of non-verbal communication are the sources of communication. As an example when we understand other's people thoughts we know how other people really feel. Every move in our body language can be judged.
Amy Cuddy ideas about how to cheat sheet to hidden thoughts is very logical. As an example for happy gestures are open palms, smile, enhanced eye contact, etc..., and for sad gestures are folded arms, hand holding up the chin, constant eye moving, etc.
In my opinion, why does non-verbal communication matters?
It is the way you look, move, listen and tell if the other person cares of what your saying, that if you are being truthful, and if that you are listening carefully about what he is saying.
